Feeling all emotional
How can my second baby suddenly be 18 months old?!... Though having recalculated this again she is actually 17 months old... Where did those baby days go? Those awful early days of new born hell... Well I had new born hell for 6 weeks with such a poorly baby until finally the hospital diagnosed her with Lactose Intollerance and I had to stop breast feeding and she went onto lactose free SMA milk... She was then like a different baby, like someone literally swapped my baby for a happy healthy one instead. Anyone else have new born hell that flashed past them in an instant? I wish I had treasured those early days more, but I had a bouncing fast toddler to also keep up with bless him so I had to share the love, second baby is so much harder!!! Here is my tiny little froglet as I nick named her...

Western Supermud fun
The thought of going to the beach with a baby and a toddler, in a 30 degree heat wave terrified me!!! I stressed about whether we would find shade, whether I was taking enough drink, whether I'd take a swimming costume or just wear my sun dress, whether to take the double buggy or the single and make the toddler walk, what food to take, what not to take... It went on!! I think the car was packed to the brim, the only thing we didn't take was the sink. But that's a mummy thing! It's like our changing bags weigh a tonne, they aren't bags just for the few nappies, wipes and bags you need - oh no, they have to store every thing! From creams, to spare clothes, to emergency make up supplies to shoes and reins! However... This was a well prepared, well packed, 1hr 45 minute journey to Weston Super Mare.
George the Donkey stood tall and proud as I lifted my little boy onto him, then terrified me as he started tottering off and jumping... "Mummy it's too scary, get me off" my little boy screamed!!! The Donkey lady (what a nick name!!) explained it was just that George was terrified of my maxi dress flapping in the breeze... Woops!!
It was absolutely boiling hot, the kids got that awful too-much-sun-tan-lotion-applied-that-our-skin-can't-breathe thing going on bless them! I only took the single buggy so my little Bear had a lot of waking to do and managed it really well, although we had to stop A LOT to wait for him to look amazed at the sea below us when we walked up the pier!!
The sea was high tide at 3pm and my lovely friend would not let us go near it until then as it was muddy and there was risk of quicksand mud so we waited and it was well worth the wait!! The sea was soooooooo warm! No clear blue sky look to it, it looked muddy and gross but it was wonderful!
All in all... We survived a mummy's beach nightmare and turned out to be a wonderful day!

Mummy and Daughter make up session
It was when my little Pop got Christened that it really dawned on me, 'oh my, I actually have a daughter!!!!' For her Christening I made her jewellery... Bracelets and necklaces with pearls and matching beads that I wore too. I'm the luckiest mum in the world to have a son but my god, I'm thankful enough to have a daughter now too... And it's times like these when it hits you, how much fun it is to have a daughter!

Photo wall montage
We've moved into our Rainbow House now and both the kidling's bedrooms are painted but bare. With my photo obsession I wanted to display photos in my little Bear's bedroom, in a funky way. I brought this photo montage set, masses of white fabric squares with ribbon to fix them together and pockets to slot in the photos....
Bless him, course as he's just turned 3 I thought (as every boring beautifullyobsessedmummy does) that I'd make it slightly educational so I put a photo in of everyone that knows and loves him and labelled every square with their hand-written name so he can start to recognise names! This is the finished product on the wall.

This very sad old laptop is where I like to blog... Spooky spoon above the laptop is from "Numberjacks" cbeebies - my little boy loves this and we went running into the kitchen, grabbed a random wooden spoon, some "gloogly" - as he calls them - eyes and made Spooky Spoon!! ... Back to blogging!!!... I'm either on this old laptop or my IPhone 4S on our corner sofa... Funds towards a new MacBook are greatly appreciated... Mwhahahahaaaas

I'm lying on the sofa blogging, my very tired snoring Bear is asleep on my lower leg sprawled out on the sofa bless him! Little Pops is upstairs in her cot also fast asleep! It's too hot to do much else so i feel it would be selfish of me not to join them chillaxing....smirk.
Skirt is the Jools Oliver range Little Bird and top is from George, Asda.
Top is the brand new Monsters Inc range from George Asda and shorts are from Next.

Best day ever!
We went on a really long drive today to find Daddy some new boots for his new matcho hobby... My little Bear (3 yrs 4mths) has started chatting loads more now, language has never been his strong point - typical boy would rather be out running and climbing! We'd been through the usual, where are we going?! Question and answer sessions, his idea was rather elaborate, expecting to go and see a giraffe or ride a very high swing, no, instead we were off shopping bless him!! After a few moments of quiet, his little voice piped up "mummy? Mummy?"... Yes little man... "Do you want to be my bestest friend?!" (The first time he has ever mentioned a best friend and the best friend concept) my heart melted!!!!! Hell yeah!! I replied proudly... A little bit nearly choking with shock and love - how cute?!
This is him, dressed in his Spider-Man vest, matching spider-man shorts (pj bottoms actually but who cares in 30 degrees?!) and his beloved pirate hat!! Gotta say, he was THE cutest dressed boy at the Macho Daddy shop today... Love my little Bear so very much!!!!

My First official day as "Mummy Helper"
I was the first to shoot my hand up to be a mummy helper at my little Bear's nursery (he only started at childcare when he turned 3years and was at home with me and Pop on maternity leave before that) so it was my first chance! Having said I'd help, I then started to dread it more and more day by day... 28 degrees temp, imagining no shade, moany children, terrible two tantrums, wondering how my little Bear would cope with me being with his nursery friends - that fear that he may play up in front of everyone!! The day itself was actually fine! (Will teach me to stop worrying!!) although instead of being allocated gorgeous children to look after, I was asked to look after 'volunteer lady penny' sigh!! It didn't help that my little Bear took an instant dislike to her and spent the car journey there saying "mummy I don't want THAT in my car..." ...she's a lady!!! (Awkward!!)
He totally astounded me by his confidence to hold the animals... Big freakishly over hairy rabbit, a no-haired rat and a snake!! He had a mild mini tantrum walking around the dinosaur field - but to be honest, an hour past our usual lunchtime, the sun burning down on us, gasping for a drink and I was ready to lie down in full blown toddler tantrum and join him!!!!!! He suffered the awkward, 'wait for your little sister' calls from me, I felt a bit bad but little Pop did very very well keeping up with the 3 and 4 year olds...
So all in all, I survived mummy helper day, and 'volunteer lady Penny' was well looked after by me, although I did turn the radio on in the car after she refused to make small talk with me or answer my whitty, occasionally quite humorous comments... Hopefully next time I won't pull the short straw, and I'll actually be able to get my hands stuck in with having five children to look after instead of a lady - and I did get a whole entire day of fun with my scrumptious kidlings xxxxx

Pee-gate... Embarrassing!!
Just been to the drs for potential Hayfever diagnosis for the Bear - bribery (as necessary with toddlers) and pretend play with the Dr and Rex on my Bear's tummy and he decides there's no Hayfever.... Sigh. Just a snotty nosed chesty coughing child I have then! The walk to the Dr's pushing the double buggy did not like my summer sandles and my feet were covered with huge sore blisters so I (very lovingly) rung my beloved husband to collect us in the car... The Bear and little Pop jumped out and ran around the Dr's grass whilst we waited. Next thing I knew, my gorgeous boy had pulled his entire shorts and pants down and off and with a scream of "I need a weeeee weeeee" he went running starkers into the drs surgery to find a loo!!!!!! The secretary's were mildly shocked but I think it made their day...
Splash Pad
A day full of big kids peeing in the water (boys will be boys!) toddler tantrums over needing to play with sticks (cos water and balls and friends aren't as exciting as sticks!), ice-cream vans who had run out of Mr Whippy (is this not illegal?!) mummies wearing exceptionally short dresses, bending over to tend to their children showing us their full glory, and squeals of huge laughter from my Bear and little Pop as they loved the water!
Factor 50, sun hats, dolly in the dolly buggy, Pop's buggy filled with supplies and we were off to meet friends at the Splash Pad! Armed with grapes, sausages, cereal bars and squash we avoided the insects and prickly grass and had a fabulous time!Fairy Liquid Baby
Morning routine... Me doing the breakfast washing up, busily scrubbing away, staring out the window watching the kidlings playing in the garden and then a little tug on my dress and a "duddle" (Pop's baby talk for Cuddle lol) and up she gets and sits on the side, either with the baby bottle brush in hand or the washing up scrubber trying to help me wash up, which usually ends in her asking to "weeeeeeee" - she slides the brush or sponge down the plate/bow/pan straight into the water splashing mummy!!!!

Early morning cuteness
5.30am wake up call by my little Bear... Yawn much!! He says he feels tired (!!) and needs a poo! These toilet training toddlers are fabulous! He's all smiles this morning though which totally erases the shock of early morning rising. Off to the Splash Pad today at the local park, cannot wait! Got their costumes ready and waiting...
New residents in our Rainbow House
So in our Rainbow House (fantastically called by our little Bear as its our pot of gold at the bottom of the Rainbow) we have a playroom... I've just tidied it up and put away all the toys obsessively back into their correct places (!!!) ...I know it's boring, but who wants to open up the wooden train track to find a Mr Potato head ear?! ...so I was thinking, what super cool thing might make my kidlings smile in the morning, and being a huge huge HUGE barbie and ken fan in my youth (and my two are too young and are only just into Happyland) I thought I'd set up the happy land (!) all over the playroom floor to surprise them!!!!
Scorching at Work
Scorcher of a day, trying to look professional at work, trying to be cool and chilled but inside feeling so hot I could nearly die... not to mention the beads of sweat on my knees - why are my knees sweaty?! what's that all about?! Picked up my kidlings, they were covered in suntan lotion looking hot and bothered in an exhausted way. Bribery of a lolly pop enabled me to throw them into a supermarket trolley and run around the shop grabbing picnic essentials, grapes, strawberries, sausages and cereal bars ready for my extended non-working long weekend (Thursday-Monday) yipeee!! My Bear had a lovely day at nursery, apparently he was a scary spiderman and kissed a princess... My Pop had a good day at the childminder, playing peek-a-boo with the kids and screaming at the top of her lungs. Sucessful mini working week complete! Cha Ching!

Summer is here!
My lovely car 'Mrs Pea's Body' was showing a terrifying 38 degrees this morning sat on my drive... Phew! Surprised her interior didn't melt! Brought my kidlings some new outfits from good old George of Asda... Funky vests and t shirts for my Bear and summer dresses for my Pop... Then of course some gorgeous funky sun glasses for them! They had the whole lot on and dressed by 7.30am!!!!
